At Papakurn. on Monday five lads were charged with having disturbed nervioe in the Methodist Church by mrling the door mat into the church 'luring eervicP. The ages of the boys charged ranged from ■21 years | down to 14, The eonatßble gave the j lads a good general character, and tht>. -Magistrate, after pivinir thorn a lecture "pon the folly of such~conduct. decided to order the youth 21 years of age to donate £2 to' the funds of the Methodist Church. The youngeet lad wae cautioned and dismissed, aa he wa« standing in the road when the offence was committed. The other three lads were directed to each pay ill towards tne funds or their respective churches, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Anglican. Mr. Poynton «aid if those payments were not made before the next sitting of «>e Court, together with costs, he would record convictions and inflict fines to the amount named in each case.
