MUN!TIONS FOR POLAND.
SUPPLIES FROM BRITAIN. NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. (Bec-ired 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 18. In the House of Commons, Mr. Bonar Law stated that in October, 1010, when it was feared that the Russian Soviet Government would attack the Russian border States, Poland asked for British assistance in militiry equipment. Owing to commitments elsewhere the Government was unable to give financial assistance, but offered to supply a quantity of surplus stores if Poland undertook to bear the cost of moving and to make all transport arrangements.. The offer was accepted, and the Polish Government was now shipping part of the stores, otherwise no assistance had been given to Poland.—(A. and N.Z. and Eeuter.)
