WANGANUI FLOUR SHORTAGE.
BRKAD MAY BE RATIONED. (Bt Telegraph.—t>wu Corrcsponden'..) WAXGAXLT, this day. The shortajre of flour is very acute in Wanganui owing to tho dislocation of direct sllipping between Dunediu and other South Island ports to Wanganui,! and it is decided that unless relief is afforded shortly some bakerd will either have to cease baking or else supplies ofi bread will have to be rationed. Consignments sent through Wellington means an addition of from .€lO to £11 to the cost, and in view of the prices being lixed t':ie enhanced prices cannot | be passed on to the consumer. It is now > suggested that local bakers and storekeepers run their own ship. There has not hpen a Southern vessel here for -ome days.
