OBITUARY.

MR. C. 0. AICKEN. Tiie death of Mr. George Gordon Aieken at Clinton Road, Heme Bay, removes an early resident of this city, and one highly esteemed by all with whom he was acquainted. Mr. Aieken was the fifth .-on of the late Dr. Thomas Aieken. for many years medical superintendent of Avondale Mental Hospital. Deceased arrived in Auckland from Ireland with his parents in 1859 by the ship Mermaid. Over 40 years ago he joined the Railway Department in the goods ofike at Auckland. Later he was' stationmaster at Cambridge, Onehunga, Ne-.v Plymouth, and Wellington. His; health gave 'Way about eleven years ago,! whereupon he resigned and came to Auckland to live. Deceased is mourned by his widow and the following chil-l dren:—Mr. G. A. Aieken. of Sydrfey;
