Mr. Lewis Bertr.ind Ixivell. who died some nnys ago. was ihe liilrd son of Mrs Hose lE. lyt>vell. of Tauplri, one «>r the early pioneers of file Waikato. De-ceased was one of the I.ovell Bros, who were so prominent for several years as Waikato representatives in football and other branches or sport The deceased hnd a wide circle .>( •r.-leuds. and endeared himself to all by his kindly Rood naluivd disposition. He leaves a wife and young fan.ily. The funeral took place at Illintly on the ISth, and was largely "■'.tended, belnc fully representative of theWaikato. There were a iarce number of beautiful wreaths sent by relatives and sympathetic friends. The Rev. Kathar <> Hara performed the last sad rites.
