(Received 12.30 p.m.) General Monash has been appointed president of a tribunal to determine certain matters arising out of the recent Australian marine, engineers' strike. " The Queensland Presbyterian Assembly of Elders recommended that minister_' stipends be increased to £300 a year. The Australian Methodist Conference passed a motion in favour of church Union. The Federal House of Representatives, by _ to 10, oil the motion of Mr. B&mfdrd, voted "Thai, the Government be requested, to increase . the salaries of members to £1,000 annually."
