INCREASING TOTALS. SCHOOLS CLOSED IN'DF.FrNITEI.Y. There were 119 mild and ten severe influenza cases reported for the 24 hours ended at noon yesterday, and from then till midday to-day. the number ahow. an increase, being 132 mild and 9 severe over the whole of the Auckland health district. As a result of the high toial* bein_ recorded almost every, day. 'he Auckland head-, office hap advised the Education Board that all the schools had better remain closed, except in the districts of Cofomandel and Mercury Bay, where the ailment, has not shown si_ns of spreading. Accordingly, the schools in these two places will re-open mi Monday, but nil'the others in the Auckland Health District will remain dosed indefiniteiv. The health district does not include Mangonui, Whangaroa, Bay of Islandsv Hokianga. Whanjrarei. Hobson and Otamatea. which are tinder the Auckland Education Board, so these schools will probably open unless advised to remain closed by the North Auckland Health Office.
