HUARAU TUNNEL STRIKE.
(By Telesrnph.—Own Correspondent.) FAPAROA, this day. The Huarau tunnel strike involves al the- men who were formerly employed in side the tunnel excepting those in charge of the pumping machinery. The mer declined the Department's offer of 1/ pel day increase on present wage of 14/ pel day. The chief engineer and assistant visited the works yesterday and had s, conference with the men. No result oi the negotiations is yet announced.
