IJiirni'S, Liberal member for Newcastle, .Mr. Lloyd George said tlie high prices were remediable only by increase! _ production and national economy. Jlo anticipated that the national revenue would balance the national expenditure, and the debt would he substantially reduced. There was no short cut to better conditions, which were only achievable by a steadily pursued policy. The Government was considering the strengthening of the Antifcrofiteering Act.—(A. and N.Z.
