WELLINGTON THE SITE. AIMS OF THE COMMITTEE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELUXGTOX. this day. The National War Memorial Committee has decided that the site for the memorial shall be in Wellington. The committee also resolved that the memorial should be so designed as t* embody the objects and sacrifices of tit war and the virtues displayed in it" i> such a way that they will be an educ*. tion and inspiration, not only to the present but to future generations, and so be of an immense influence in the formation of New Zealand's national character. The committee at present consists of Sir James Allen, the Hon." J. G. Coates, the Hon. Dr. and Messrs. C. J. Parr, J. P. Luke, L. M. Isitt, \V. Downie Stewart, T. E. Y. Seddon, and E. Newman, li was agreeil to strengthen it by four members, tl be nominated by the Mayor of Wellington. The details are not yet decided, but it is possible that competitive designs may be called for from architects and artiste.
