NORTHCOTE AND BIRKENHEAD REGATTA. The Northcote and Birkenhead Regatta was held on Saturday evff >Nort*ncoto. tbe flagship being the s.s. e&parrowhawk, kindly lent by the Devonport Ferry Co. There wan a good attendance of tbe public, and all the events were got off promptly to time, but the absence of wind rather spoilt the sailing events. The officials for the day were Messrs. J. T. Fearnley and James Reid starter and Judge for the sailing events; side shows, Mr. E. F. Bailey. Mr. __. T. R. Jamieson was hon. treasurer and Mr. A. V. Tyer hon. secretary. CRUISING RACE TO ABKLEffi BAY. The New Zealand Power Boat Association and Ponsonby Cruising Club held a combined cruise to Arkle's Bay on Saturday, most of the launches getting away to a S °The St Knsonby Club's yacht races were started to time, althoufih the wind was light the weather being ideal. Ebb tide aSd 'leading wind, the harbour presented a very pleasing sight, there being over i<J boats going down the Waitemata. The races were started from the Mav«_ 8., Mr. Albert Braund (ably assisted by his crew) acting as starter. The following yachts charted:—First-class— Quietenie scr, SpeedVeil scr, Windward _m, Wairiki l.m, •Ngahau ljm, Gloriana »m. All away to a good start. The race resulted: —Speedwell 1, Windward 2, Queenie 3. 26-Footers.—The entries were: Starlight scr, Waitere scr, Sadie scr, Omatea 2m, Calypso 2m, Zoe sm. The race resulted: — Sadie 1, Waitere 2, Starlight 3. _a-Foot*ers.—Marie scr, Ngaru 11. 2m, Doreen 2Jm, Venus 4m, Gladys S. 4m, Walma 6m, Waikere 6*m. All secured a good start with the exception of Marie, which was over ten minutes late. The race resulted:—Venus 1, Ngaru 2, Waikere 3. Laune*h Race.—This race resulted:— 'Countess 1, Jean Grey 2, and Romance 3. POWER-BOAT ASSOCIATION. Seven boats started in the race held by the association, the finishing times being:— Surf (22m), 4h 9m 555; Cavalier (21m), 4h lorn 45«; Klrlta (40m), 4h 22m 26b; Jean (8m 30s), 4h 32m 41s; Romance (50m), 4h 3Sm 35*; Silens (55m 30a), 4h 39m 40s; Banshee (53m 30s), 4h 43m 455. Corrected times place Klrita first, Silens second, and turf third. THE MANTJRATJ CLUB. TTie annual Intererhange of visits betweer the Auckland and Mannkau Yacht Cinbs was held on Saturday, when about 30 repre seutatives of the Auckland Clubs were en tertalned by the Manukau Club to a week end trip. The visitors were conveyed ir the clnb's launches to Orua Bay, whett the night was spent. Next day Blowhole Bay was visite-i. and the bill climbed tr the South Head signal station.
