Arthur -Myers, in (May, when Mrs. Arthur Myers and family intend to proceed to England. A very pretty wedding took place in Masterton on Thursday, when Miss Vera Caselberg, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Caselberg, was married to Mr. Jack Mendelssohn, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. Mendelssohn, of London. The Rev. H. Van Staveren, of Wellington, officiated at the ceremony. The engagement is announced of Miss Gwen Beale, elder daughter of Mr. and iMrs. E. C. Beale, of Auckland, to Mr. •William G. Wood, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. William Wood, Napier, Eawke's Bay. The engagement is announced of Miss Eva Gregory, seventh daughter of Mr. »nd Mrs. R. Alma Baker, Miss Julitha Baker, and Miss Minnitt arrived in London on the 23rd December, and are staying at the Langham Hotel. They had a most interesting tour across America, where they stayed at many of the tig cities; and they e-rossed the Atlantic in the Imperator, the largest and latest of the German passengers steamers, and now belonging to the Cunard Company. The Americans used the ship as a transport during her "internment in their waters, antl it was her first trip since she came into our possession. Mr. and Mrs. Kidman (Australia's Cattle King) ■were fellow passengers, and are staying at the Langham Hotel. ■CrirCrirCrfrCr An interesting wedding took place at St. isepulcltre's Church on January 15th, when Mr. Ernest Horspool, the weilknown cricketer, eighth son of Mrs Horspool, Khyber Pass, was married to Isabel Jessie Smith, eldest daught of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith, 121, Symonds Street. The bride, who was given away by her iather, wore a frock of ivory crepe dechine, trimmed with insertion and pearls, and the usual wreath of orange 'blossoms. She also carried a beautiful shower bouquet, and was attended .by her sister, Miss Doris Smith, and Miss Alice Horspool as bridesmaids. The former wore •white embroidered voile, relieved by pink coses on the panels, and tulle hat; the Utter pale blue Shantung and ninon, prettily tucked and trimmed with gold Lee and tralle hat. Both 'bridesmaids carried 'bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Percy Horspool, and Mr. A. Saunders as groomstaan. A reception was afterwards held. , •siT'r-WrtWrtr A quiet, pretty wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Onehunga, on Wednesday last, the 11th February, the Rev. D. D. Scott officiating. The contracting parties were Miss Anne Pascoe, youngest daughter of Mr. Samuel Pascoe of Church Street, Onehunga, and Mr. G. H. Bote, only son of Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Bate, of Hawera. The church was tastefully decorated, and suitable music was rendered 'by the organist, Mr Hardy. After the ceremony, a quiet breakfast party was . held at the home of the bride. A special feature of the arrangements was the beautiful bouquets carried by the ladies of the party. The bride wore a charming costume of pastel shade, with smart white hat, and was attended by Miss Edith Rowe, as bridesmaid, who wore a stylish costume in .awn, with a black hat. Mr. Bate was supported by Mr. W. Pascoe and the bride was given away by her eldest brother, Mr. J. Pascoe. •trtrirtrktt A most enjoyable cradle roll picnic in connection with the Takapuna W .C.T.U. was held in Kitchener Park Mtlford, on Thursday, 12th February. The day was fine, and upwards of a hundred mothers and children gathered under the shade of the trees. Short addresses were given by Mrs. Fulljames and Mrs. Winstone Afternoon tea was served, and the children were entertained with games. Lacii child received a packet of sweets befejre leaving the ground. Some fruit was also edistributed amongst them. WAIKATO NOTES. Mrs Pillar has returned after spend In" a long holiday at Takapuna. Mrs. CMera has returned to her hom< in Hamilton after spendina a delightfu holiday at Kawau.

Mrs. Whitehome has returned to her home _n Claudelands, having spent a lovely holiday at Kawau. Mrs. Tudehope has been on a holiday to her people in Hawera. Mrs. T. Jolly has left on a trip to Rotorua for the croquet tournament. Mrs. C. Bennett is at present staying with her mother on a short holiday. Mrs. J. Ranstead is at present spending a few weeks on the Thames coast. An impromptu tennis dance was given by Mrs. H. Matthews on Saturday evening last, and was enjoyed by all presentA very delightful little dance was held last week, and organised by Misses D. Brewes, L. Cussen, and J. McCaw, which was a jolly and bright little affair; a dainty little supper was served. Mrs. Forbes has been on a visit to Hamilton, staying with Miss Wallnutt. Mrs. Stevenson is at present on a visit to Hamilton, where she intends making her home. Amongst the guests at Warwick are: Mr. and Mrs. Barton, Mrs. and Miss Knight (Auckland), Mrs. Cunningham and Miss Neilson, Mrs. Alwell and Mrs. Anderson, Mr. a-nd Mrs. Shanley, Mrs. N'orvell and daughters.
