SINN FEIN ACTIVITIES.
, RAIDS AND COUNTER RAIDS. LONDON, February 15. A band of civilians attacked two constables at Rathdrum, in County Wicklow, Ireland, wounding one. The policemen returned the fire, killing one of the civilians. Police and soldiers on motor lorries made a series of raids in Dublin at daybreak, arresting eight Sin Feiners, in- ' eluding a town councillor. Michael f Staines, a Sinn Fein M.P., escaped by a back door while the police were knocking at the front door. — (A. and N.Z.) ' POLICE BARRACKS ATTACKED. » THREE HOURS' FIGHTING. s 1 (Received 12.35 p.m.) . LONDON, February 15. Sin Feiners attacked the police barracks at Ballvtrain, Monaghan. After a three hours' fight the raiders blew up the walls of the building, injuring three of i the police, while masked men raided the _ house of Mr. McSweeney, veterinary 1 surgeon, of wk, for money and arms. - One of the raiders was wounded, prob- .- ably fatally.
