ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER
POISON IN MEAT.
YOUTH COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Aubrey Ibell, aged 17, has been committed for trial on a charge of attempting to murder William Murphy and his son -Tohn Murphy, at Island Bay on January 22. Two charges of theft were also preferred against Ibcll. Murphy stated in evidence that he gave Ibell a home while the latter was looking for employment. On returning home on January 22, witness found some of his 'belongings in Ibell's portmanteau. Ibell admitted stealing these, and was taken to the police station. Later, when Murphy and his son went to get tea. they found poison had been put in some meat. This poison had been taken from a box where it was kept under lock and .Key. The powon was used 'by Murplu - , senior, in the course of work as rateati'her about the city.
