INFLUENZA DECREASING.
ONE SEVERE CASE YESTERDAY. There continues to be a satisfactory diminution in the number of cases of influenza notified to the Auckland Health Department. Since noon yesterday sixteen cases have been reported, only one of which was severe. Auckland city was responsible for eight mild cases a"nd the one severe case: the suburbs for live mild cases, and the remaining two mild case? came from Pokuru, in the Waitomo county. On Wednesday there were 25 cases and on Tuesday 22.
For the period ironi Monday last to noon to-day th? total cases reported numbered 7.">—31 mild and '2 severe from the city: 16 mild and 3 severe from the suburb's: 7 (all in the one house) from Tamahere: 2 each from Te Aroha and TV Rapa: and 1 each from Henderson. Matangi. Te Kuiti, Rotorua, Pokuru. Waihi. Pohou, Paro, and Taumarunui. Three cases of pneumonia -were reported during the same period. 2 from the city and 1 from Avondale.
