WESTFIELD STOCK SALES.
a Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons report:—At our Westfield sales to-day the supply of beef totalled 365 head, comprising 231 steers, 125 cows and heifers, and nine bulls. There was a keen demand throughout, with values very firm at last week's figures. Choice ox sold at i an average of £2 14/ per 1001b, prime ox £2 10/ to £2 12/, ordinary and plain £2 5/ to £2 Of, rough beef £1 16/ to £2 2/, cow and heifer beef £2 5/ to £2 12/. Steers ranged in price from £20 to £23 10/ (for heavy steers from Mr. Jaa. Muir, Waerenga), lighter cut £16 to £18 10/, light and unfinished steers £10 to £14 10/, cows and heifers £8 10/ to £10, aged and unfinished cows £5 to £7 15/. The highest averages for steers were: Fourteen from Mr. James Muir, Waerenga, £22 11/; eight from Mr. F. Kelland, Waipipi, £10 11/3; nine from' Mr. C. J. Storey, Woodstock, Te Aw_-1 mutu, £18 18/7; nine from the same,! £16 16/8; 10 from a client, £17 18/1; four j from Mr. R. G. Findlay, Miranda, £17. ■ I
