A well-represented meeting of businessmen of Whangarei was held on Monday nlglit to dlsouss the formation of a Traders' Association. At Hie last meeting In December, when the holiday arrangements and closing hours were fixed, a committee was set up to go into the question of the Traders' Association. After some discussion It was unanimously decided that uch a body be formed, to lie called The "Whangarel IDlstrict Traders' Association. It was stated that the main object of the association would be for the obtaining of greater unanimity in matters of interest, of opportunity for discussing business affairs, and Increased powers of indicating trader , views. The following officers were elected: President. Mr. Timewell: vice-presi-dent, Mr. V. W. Reed: secretaray. Mr 0. MoLean: Executive Committee, Messrs S.
