DECEMBER NOTIFICATIONS. INFLUENZA CASES 536. The returns of notifiable diseases re-1 ceived for the month of December show a total of 536 influenza caees. A very heavy portion of these, namely, 401 cases, arc from the country, leaving CI from Auckland city and 74 from the suburbs. The returns for pneumonia reports 71 cases as against 73 during the month of November. The past month was distributed as follows: City 26, suburbs 16, and country districts 29. The number of notifiable infectious diseases, other than the above, reported for December, was 176, a decrease of 43 since the November returns. Diphtheria shows an incrase, however, of 11 cases. The notifications, 65 in all, were: City 12, suburban 16, and-country districts 37. Enteric cases were seven as against November's 20, while the decrease in scarlet fever was from 26 to 13. The number of measles was 10, a decline of cases; tuberculosis 15, a decline of five cases.
