AVONDALE ROAD BOARD.

I The Board accepted an offer, at £13 a ton of secondhand rails for the proposed tramway to the Shell Island. The supervisor submitted a scheme foI improving the storm-water drainage in Brown Street, and it was approved The supervisor was instructed to define a brick area in the centre of the township The question of a salt-water bath was discussed, and Mr. Morgan suggested that the co-operation of the School Committee might be enlisted in the way of getting up concerts. It was resolved to communicate with the School Committee. It was decided to Inquire if the City Council would supply power for electric lighting. The clerk tendered his resignation as inspector of noxious weeds. It was stated that the present system was too costly for the benefit received, and as the Government is now apparently -moving in the matter it was decided to leave matters to the Government official.
