According to the quarterly return compiled in the ofiice of the Official Assignee, Auckland, for the period ended September last, the bankruptcy 'business was ms follows, the figures in parentheses being for the similar quarter of 1018: — Number of bankruptcies uncloeed at the end of preceding quarter, 110 in OUicial Aeeignee's ofiice, and 53 in Deputy Assignee's offices (110 and S3); leaving on hand 110 and i>3 (110 and 83); fresh bankruptcies !) and 11 (13 and 7); total in hand at the end of September 113 and 04 (123 and 00); total amount of aseete realised, £4250 and £2490 (£4519 and JL'43l2) ; paid in dividends, .€833 and £937 ( £1540 and £787); Government Commiesion received £227 and t42 ( .€6O and £44).
