!_ro improvement ha.s been reported (says the "Otago Daily Times") in tho output of the Kaitangata mihes. and at the end of the week the output seemed to be pretty much the same as that at the beginning. The reduc?d output of the Green -sla-nd mines shows plainly that the "go slow" policy has been adopted there, and the supply now will scarcely meet the demand. On Saturday portion of one of Christie's pits took fire, and had to be blocked off. The fire ie reported to be not of a serious nature. An appreciable drop is noticed in the outout of the Westport Oompauy'raines since the miners adopted the ''go slow" policy. The daily output at the end oi the "week was much the same as that.at the beginning.
