BEEF SLIGHTLY EASIER IK PRICE. ' A BIG YARDING.

Beef was penned in larger numbers than of late at the Westfleld fat stock sales to-day. Competition was not so keen, with prices slightly easier than last week. Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.—Beef was penned in more than average numbers, and although we had no extra heavy weights the quality was good throughout. Bidding waa not so brisk as the previous week, and in very few cases last week's .prices were reached. Best oxen sold to £3 9/ per 1001b; others 3gns to £3 7/. Cow and heifer beef sold at from £2 17/ to £3 6/. Steers sold at from £15 to £26 2/0 for a pen fatted by Mr. J. M. Scott, Horahora, Cambridge. Cows and heifers cold at from £9 to £21 15/ for a heifer fatted by Mr. J. S. Fitch, Karaka. Some of the averages for steers were: Eight from Air. J. M.
