WORK FOR DISABLED.

THE KING'S APPEAL.

c LONDON, Spetember 10". Newspapers give prominence to the King's proclamation regarding disabled soldiers. They say that there is a clear obligation on the part of all enjoying the blessings of a victorious peace to make acknowledgment to those who suffered on their behalf. The Royal proclamation charges employers to keep in their services as many disabled soldiers as their businesses will allow, not being held back by fear of inconvenience or loss but omitting nothing which will secure occupation for men whose lack of employment offends the gcnpra.l conscience. The King exhorts minister of religion to read the proclamation in all chapels and churches.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
