ROYAL MAIL STEAMERS.
MAKURA SAILS. The R.M.S. Makura was not long in following the wake of the Niagara, which left for Vancouver on Saturday night. The Makura pulled out into the stream at 5 p.m. yesterday, when the usual medical formalities had been complied with, and sailed soon after ten o'clock. The Niagara omitted to call at Suva, and will gain a couple of days on the other ship, and the two vessels should soon get back to their regular running. The Niagara is scheduled to leave Vancouver again on October 3, making her due here about October 20. She then proceeds to Sydney, and is to sail from here en route" to Vancouver on November 4.
