INVESTIGATIONS IN TRANCE. RAIDS ON THE BIG STORES. (Received 2.40 p.m.) PARIS, September 16. The Government is intensifying its fight against the profiteers, and is investigating prices at the big stores. Officials seized books and samples at the leading drapery shops accused of exorbitant charges.—(United Service.)
