RUGBY.

The Auckland reps, will have their biggest game of the season to-morrow, when they play Wellington, at Wellington, for the Ranfurly Shield. Whatever the outcome, the game should be a good one, for the Wellingtonians, by all accounts, have been, playing attractive football this season, and they have a great team of backs, while Auckland will be represented by a team which carries the fullest confidence of local enthusiasts. Auckland's back division will, unfortunately, have to be re-arranged somewhat, on account of Laxon having been injured in the Taranaki game. This will probably mean that the three-quarter line of Wilson, Orierson and Woolley, to which followers of the game here have pinned their faith, will have to be broken, ami Orierson played as outside live-eighth. The full-back will probably be Heath, of Waihi. anel Rums may go into the three-quarter line.

The Taranaki team which played Auckland em Saturday took a leaf frcm the Auckland book in the matter of playing the open game, and gave v much improved display on that of their showing in tlie lirut match. During the game \V. Luxon bad his collarbone broken, and will be unable to play in the Wellington and North Island matches. Thomas got a knock on one of liis -.inkles, but is

expected to be right for the Wellington game to-morrow. Woolley got a knock which dazed him momentarily, but he was soon all right again. | COLLEGES V. UNDER 20 REPS.
