ANTI-GAMBLING RESOLUTIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. At a meeting of the Council of Churches it was resolved that the Government be urged to release all conscientious objectors, whether the grounds are religious or otherwise, also that kindred bodies be communicated with urging organisation for resistance of any attempt to enlarge gambling facilities by increasing the number of totalisator permits, hostility to telegraph betting on the tofcalisators, and the introduction of double betting, and to support eveiy movement to eliminate bookmakers.
