NAVAL SUPERIORITY.
TIRFITZ'S WILD CLAIM. WHAT JUTLAND PROVED. (Received 10.5 a.m.) j LOXDOX, .September 15. I Adminrl yon Tirpitz, in an article in j the "Sunday Times;" claims that the battle of Jutland, in which all the conditions favoured the British, clearly I proved the superiority of the German i personnel and material, and also justi- ! tied his protests r.gainst the lleet's for- | mer inactivity. Germany's Jutland losses were onethird those of the British, which elated I and surprised the officers and men. who mentally pictured the results if early in the war the fleet had been allowed to seek a favourable opportunity to attack ' the British. They avoided yon Sheer"s subsequent efforts for another battle. ' ', Tirpitz deplores the Kaiser's retention of the supreme command of the navy, which was responsible for the policy of ■j inactivity. — (A. and X.Z. Cable.)
