Sir,—l was pleascel to see the letter of Mr. E. Bartlett Clark calling attention to the urgent need for a road connection from Fort Street to Shortland Street opposite High Street, and it is to be hoped that the City Council will endeavour to acquire the necessary land before it is too late. Tlie congestion of traflic in Queen Street at this point will in a few years be very great, and it will be imperative to find some relief for this congestion. Why not have it done now, when the cost will be infinitely smaller? I am, etc., CITIZEN.
