the Education Department. The question as to whether applications should be Invited from the whole of tbe Dominion or from the Auckland educational .!' trict only, evoked considerable discussion, tn. The approval .if tbe Minister of Education for tbe establishment of two temporary schools In rented balls at St. Barnabas and St. Alban's. Mt. K.len. having ben received, the Board decided to open the former on Monday next, an.l tbe latter when necessary drainage work In connection therewith is. completed. It is hoped -by the use or these schools to cater for the surplus children in the district until the opening of the school, which it is proposed |to build on the Kowhal Street site.
