FEDERATION OF BRITISH INDUSTRIES.
AFTER THE .VO___D-_ TRADE. The newly-formed overseas organisation of the Federation of British Industries includes in its membership about 17,000 manufacturing and producing firms in threat Britain. The object of this organisation is to capture the trade of the world as far as possible. It need hardly be added that the United States business firms are out -with the same object. The most important feature ol the Federation of British Industries is the appointment of trade commissioners in every part, of the world. The idea is thus to form a chain of commercial outposts throughout the world. The Commissioner will secure special information to be placed at the service of British firms belonging to the Federation. Hitherto the bulk of such information had to be drawn from consular reports, but now the information .vill be gathered by experts in business, both as regards export of manufactured articles and the importation of raw materials. Already 21 resident commissioners have been appointed.
