SCHEMES FOR ENTERTAINMENT. | The planning of the entertainments that will be a feature of the welcome j extended to Admiral Jellicoe and offi- " cers of H.Mjs. New Zealand when they come here to Auckland is well ad- ' vanced, but there is likely to be somewhat of a delay before the arrangements are brought to their culmination, because the actual visit of the famoue Admiral to Auckland will not be quite so soon as has been anticipated. News now comes that the ibattle-cruieer is in dock for overhaul in Sydney, and is delayed there until the Admiral meete the Federal Premier, -Mr. W. J. Hughee, who is now on his way out from Eng- ■ land. The Deputy-Mayor (Mr. A. J. Entrican) stated this morning that the vielt to Auckland would possibly not be made until late in September. The Jellicoe Reception Committee reported progress to the City Council tart night. Advices have been received from "Wellington that the Town Hall is to be • made a kind of club-house, where ti» men will t>e continuously entertained. Free tram trips -Trill be in order for the men, and the municipality is arranging for a citizens' ball for the Admiral and : officers. The committee has recommended that . during the visit tramcars shall be free to all men in uniform from the sfeW Zealand. This has (been endorsed by the Council. The Automobile Association is also to ■ be asked to place motors at the disposal of the men on the day of the Pakurangft Hunt Club Steeplechase, and the residents of Papatoetoe are to be requested to entertain fhe New Zealand's men at afternoon tea.
