LLOYD GEORGE HONOURED.
AWARDED ORDER OF MERIT. ! WAR GRANTS TO AIRMEN. LONDON, August 7. The King has conferred upon Mr. Lloyd George the Order of Merit. The House of Commons passed a motion of thanks to Mr. Lloyd George for his great services during the war. (A. and N.Z. Cable.) The Labour party has decided to move a reduction of the war grants by £200,000. The main criticism of the grants in Parliamentary circles is the smallness of the recognition given to the Air Forces.— (A. and XZ. Cable.)
