BfISS PENNANT'S DISMISSAL LONDON, August 3. The Violet Douglas Pennant cae< ivhich ha,B been agittiting politico circles for many months, has taken dramatic turn. The House of Lord has decided, by G9 votes to 42, in favou of the appointment of a select commil tee to investigate Miss Pennant's dis missal from the Women's Air Force. Lord Stanhope, in moving the appoint ment of the committee, alleged tha there had been grave scandals betwee army officers and girls training a motor-drivers. Some had returne drunk from London at 4 o'clock in th morning in Government cars. He adde that the Government had previousl refused an inquiry, fearing these rcveh tions.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
