PLAYERS' PASSES ON SATURDAY.

The usual weekly deliberations of the Executive Committee of the Auckland Rugby League occurred last evening, and a few matters of greater or lesser Importance were gone into.

Mr. J. Endean 'has been chosen as the Marist Brothers Old (Boys' delegate on the executive, and his appointment was warmly approved. . y

The coming rep. game on the Domain on Saturday was considered from several angles. The team from Hawke's Bay Is now en route to this city, there being a few alterations to the originals. McCarthy, now on board the Mania in the stream, will be available to represent his province in the match ,so he is in vice 'Manning, Widerstrom plays vice Taylor, Fiilford Is in place of Exeter, .and 'Moore comes instead or Crowley. The team will arrive on Friday night. A a curtain-raiser to this representative game it was decided to play Sunnyside versus City juniors, these two second grade teams being leaders in the championship.

The Ponsonbj- Club wrote asking the League to nominate a date for their -game with Sydenham, the Chrlstchurch season's champions, who have challenged the local team for the Thaeker Shield. Decision was postponed until communication can he established with Sydenham Club, which is being asked to name a suitable occasion.

The suggestion that was made and approved to lift disqualifications ns a sort of peace gift came into practical operation, and the suspension of -Sharp, a junior player, was lifted. The same applied to Mr. Con. McDevett, who, however, wrote asking permission to. have the matter sent on to the New Zealand -Council, for personal reasons.

The rule of the League in the past has been to grant 500 players' free passes to big matches. This came up for reconsideration hist night, in reference to the ■Hawke's Bay match, and a wire was read from Napier hinting that free passes might he diminished In numbers as far ns possible on this occasion. It was held that, as the game on Saturday would be under the Jurisdiction of the New Zealand League, and not the Auckland body, the parent council would have to decide the issue. Therefore the matter of these players' passes is to be held over this week until the council meeting on Friday evening.

The chairman and secretary of the Auckland Rugby Union were Invited to Saturday's match.
