|f STATE MINES RETURN, 7 ;'; THE HOUSING PROBLEM. " 1 / £By Telegraph.—Special to "Star."> WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister for Mines, the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, states that thirty miners have returned to the State mines within ■the last month, and the output is now very satisfactory. Correspondence is passing (between the Miners' Federation and the coal owners regarding housing, and unless they come to a mutual arrangement the Minister proposes to introduce legis ■lation on the subject, which he will submit to both parties, giving them an opportunity of calling evidence before a committee of the House.
