. f HAMILTON RESIDENT WAYLAID \ STRUGGLE LN THE DARK. c i (By Telegraph.— Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. } f In Anglesea Street, shortly after one | o'clock this morning, Mr. W. H. Paul, the Winter Show Association's secre- ! tary, was tripped up by Three or four j men, and kicked about the 'back and ribs. I Mr. Paul was proceeding home from | -his office, and had got to a point oppo- " site the Hamilton bowling green when he was attacked. In falling his head struck a boot worn by one of hi 3 assailants, and his eyeglasses were broken. The men hurriedly decamped, leaving their victim on the ground. h On reaching home, Mr. Paul got into ci communication with the police. It was a: very dark, and Mr. Paul was unable to _ recognise his assalia_ts, of whom there t< were at least three.
