The question of the establishment oti a Chair of Education at Canterbury College, and the proposal that the pro-j fessor appointed should be the rector ofi I the college, was acain before the Hoard i !of Governors to-day. The Professorial| : Board intimate,! that it viewed the pro-j I posal to appoint a rector with misgiving,! and asked the board to waive tiie matter for the present in order that the Professorial Board might have an opportunity of making recommendations whereby the appointment could be made in accordance with the spirit of the Empowering Act. After discussion, further consideration! of the matter waa held over until the next meeting.
