NORTHERN TJNTON. SENIOR MATCHES RE-CASTED. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League met last night, Mr J. „rlaw presiding. Messrs. C. Sinclair and W. Pearce waited on the committee to discuss misunderstandings in connection with the Post and Telegraph Club. One stated that the P. and T. Football Club was. or had until recently, been under the control of the P. and T. Social Club, and asked the League to recognise that social body: while the other gentleman contended otherwise. The committee decided that the matter was one outside its jurisdiction, as it could recognise only registered and affiliated bodies, but the deputation was advised by Mr Carlaw as to the course most likely to avert further friction. A member of the City senior team, who answered a summons to appear before the committee for using bad language to a

nno umpire, was admonished and warned, (adman, of the Ponsonby team, was suspended from playing until he appeared before the committee to answer an official report that be had threatened to take his team off the field last Saturday, on account of a ruling of the referee: the committee emphasised the necessity of players recogBising that teams must keep faith with the pnhlic. It was stated that the Grafton club had decided to withdraw its senior team from 'he competition, on account of the thirteen having p, ipn serionslv weakened by sereral causes, the chief being the absence of members with the touring team in Australia. The committee derided to re-cast arrangements for the senior matches, so that all the teams left in might have a pam» each week. The re-draw resulted: — June 2S.—Ponsonhy v. Newton. City v. Maritime.
