THE PUKEMIRO MINES.
STILL IDLE. The net result of inquiries made at the office of the Pukemiro Collieries, .Ltd, to-day, was that so far no further developments had occurred. The mines are still idle, and, so far as can be gathered from the company, no more has been done bj- either side, neither has there yet appeared any probability of settlement. The Conciliation Commissioner left for Huntly by the Rotorua express this morning, and met the accredited representatives , of the union there ."lis afternoon for the purpose of a conference. From all that can be gathered regarding the dispute, which has been going on in greater or less degree since February last, there is now an undercurrent of bitterness that will possibly delay settlement.
