FATHER PATTERSON'S FUNERAL
, I MASS AT ST. PATRICK'S. St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral was crowded this morning, when requiem mass was sung, prior to the funeral of Father James Francis Patterson leaving for Panmure. Amongst tho« present not belonging to the church were: Mr. William Blomfield, Mayor of Takapuna (where deceased had resided), and Messrs- E. Davis and Elliot Davis. There was a large gathering of the clergy. Dean Lightfoot sang the Mass, the Rev. Father Kelly being deacon au 1 Rev. Father Biickley sub-deacon. The casket was conveyed to the cemetery in Mr. C. Little's white hearse and was followed by clergy and friends in nine other cars. Mgr. Gillon officiated at the grave.
