Certain members of the late Loril Kitchener"? family deny the interpretation placed upon tin , friendship which existed bet wen the Into Lord Kitchener and the late Mi--; Carrie Hutchison, who, they point out, was many yeans older than Lord Kitchener, and over 80 roars of age when she died two years ago (says the '•Weekly Dispatch")* They point out that while »he was a great friend of Lord Kitchener's father, and that Lord Kitpheiior always held her in the highest ustri'iii, and had for her the affection shared by his brothers and siiU<>r which one would 'expect for someone who had always been kind and generous to them, the friendship never passed into any deeper sentiment. The motorcar subscribed for by the Taranaki public for the Plunket Xurse has been purchased and Miss Williams has mastered the art of driving, and is now able to do her rails in comfort, and much more expeditiously. i
