AUCKLAND ROWING CLUB, The competition for trophies presented Mr. H. Schmidt was held on Saturday afteruoon. A strong wind blew off shore, i but did not in any way interfere with the rowing. The exciting contest was won bf !W. Fleming, R. Murray, W. Stevensou, C, Kirk, A. Sullivan (cox): with P. Ryan, U Kirk, V. Murray, J. Brodie, G. Fleminf (cox'i second, only about a length, behind, after an interesting tussle. - I WAITBMATA BOATING CLUB. The annual trial fours for gold medal* presented by the Commodore (Hon. A. M. Myers) were held on Saturday. ■* strong wind off shore made the watel rather choppy near the finish of the course. The first heat was won by C. Cairns' ere« by a length.
