FEEDING EUROPE.

AMERICA'S HEAVY TASK. HARVEST IN THREE MONTHS. NEW YORK, March 2?,. The Paris correspondent cf the New York "World" interviewed Mr. H. C. Hoover, who has been placed in control of the system for re-provisioning Austria. Mr. Hoover said the United States must feed 700,000,000 people in Europe. The, critical months for the world would be April, May and June, but after that the harvest would be reaped, thus improving the situation. Mr. Hoover said the United States was now bearing the burden of delivering foodstuffs, but the task was too great for one country to bear. France nod Italy had only enough tonnage for their own needs. Sacrifice must come from British and American tonnage.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
