A "MODERATE" CANDIDATE. (P.j Telegraph.—Tress Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday. An influential deputation -waited on ilr. J. J. Dougall to-day -with a request that he would consent to nomination for the. Mayoralty of Christchureh. In intimating the desire of the deputation, >lr. N. h. Macbeth eaid that Christchurch wanted a Mayor who was moderate in his views and not an extremist. Mr. Dougal! said that for the next two years Christchureh should not have an extremist at the head of affair?. 110 had considered the position, and believed it -was a time for tolerance. lie would accede to the request of the deputation.
