PUBLIC NOTICES. AUCKLAND MINISTERS' ASSOCIATION, PROHIBITION /CAMPAIGN TITANIFESTO. pOLLIXG J)AY — ABBE, -J Q > W E . the undersigned members of the ' " Auckland Ministers , Association, desire ■ to express ourselves on the coming poll of ' April 10, on National Prohibition. , For many yeaTS the Churches we represent have tieen fighting the Drink Traffic and attempting Its abolition, but without • success. The National Efficiency Board appointed by the Government has recommended that a poll be taken on the question and compensation to a limited extent be granted In the event of Prohibition •being carried. While opposed In principle to compensation, we yet heartily support the proposal of the Efficiency Board, as It gives to us the opportunity by a tare majority of obtaining Prohibition almost ; immediately, viz., on July 1. As ministers we urge upon our congregations to do theh- utmost to further this cause. No suoh further opportunity is granted the people by law, as the vote after April 10 will be on three Issues, a wholly uujust thing. Let us, therefore, do with all our might what we can and get rid of this evil now. No Christian man oi" woman needs to be told the evlle wrought by this curse. It is one of the stumbling blocks to the establishment of God's Kingdom and must ■be removed out of the way. This is the Church's opportunity, and It must be 6eized. The grand examples set by the United States and Canada should hearten us all, and make us more determined to do all we can to maUe polling day a day of victory. To this end we would most earnestly urge you to continue Work and Prayer. Yours for the welfare of our Dominion, FREDERIC WARNER, President. C. H. LAWS, 8.A., Vice-Presldent. I.
