AFIRE IN MID-ATLANTIC.
BRITISH LINER ABLAZE. WIRELESS CALL HEARD. (Received 10.5 a.m.) LONDON. March 21. The British steamer Penlee is on fire in mid-Atlantic. She sent out wireless calls for assistance as soon as the outbreak was discovered, and these were picked up by the Mauretania and the Werethena, who are hurrying to the rescue. — (A. and N.Z.)
