The Department of Agriculture has held its first sale of pedigree Ayrshire stock at the Moumahaki State Farm, and it is said that the display was the best of that breed of cattle ever seen in the Dominion, ln all, 4S head were sold. The highest price. oSgns, was paid by Mr. F. Mills, of Hawera, for Ayres 111., whilst Mr. M. Law-ton, of Waiuku, paid oGgns for Dominion Fenwick Maggie. The average for the 48 head, which included a large number of calves, was 20gns.
