COTJNTS AT THE BOOTHS. FIGURES TO BE ANNOUNCED. WELLINGTON, Thursday. A statement was issued by the Attor-ney-General to-day in regard to the announcement of the result of the liquor poll. It reads as follows: — il) "The elfect of paragraph (c), of subsecticn ('), of section 9 of the Licensing Amendment Act. 1918, read -with section 4 of the same Act, is to provide that the procedure at the poll and also the procedure with respect to the counting of votes and the preliminary count shall be in accordance with the procedure defined by the Legislature Act. 1908. and its amendments, except only in regard to the special procedure provided for the recording of votes of members of the Expeditionary Forces.

(2) —Therefore la 1 lhe provisions of section 43 of the Legislature Amendment Art. 1010, providing for a preliminary count of votes at ea.-h polling place by each deputy returning officer, and lb) the provisions of section 137 of the Legislature Act, 190S—as amended by section 46 of the Legislature Amendment Act. 1010—providing for an announejment by each deputy returning officer of the result of tlie preliminary count at the polling booth under his charge and for notification by telegram to the returning otiicer of such re.-uit should be ©l»ser\ecl and complied with.
