THE ANNUAL MEETING. T"° OPENING DAY'S RACING. A RECORD ATTENDANCE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, this day. The -Hamilton Racing Clnb opened their annual Meeting at Claudelands to-day. The weather was beautifully line but very warm, and there was a record attendance. A special train from Auckland was packed, being 40 minutes' late in reaching Its destination. Lady loua 7.7, Gleuval 7.7. Hessian got all the better of the dispatch. hut with a furlong covered. Tempo was In front, folio-wed by Glenval and Te oro, aud they were the leading division to ihe straight, where Pretty 'Bobby and Mouu tain Gold came through, a great race securing the former a win by a neck. Comely King was two length, and a-h.il' away, third, aud tlion came Benzine aim le Ore, with Saloon and Lady loua the last pair. Time, 1.42 3-5. Pretty Robinwas favourite. King Lupin was quickest to begin, but crossing the top Caballoro got 10 the front, and was never afterwards headed, winning comfortably by two lengths from Ring Lupin, which was a length and a-half in front of Bellncity, with Coo Ipa 11 rourth.
